Brit Vick drove in four runs on three hits to lead Derby Twins past Newton Rebels 13-7 on Friday at E 14th St & N Kansas Ave. Brit Vick singled in the first scoring two, tripled in the third scoring one, and walked in the fifth scoring one.

Derby Twins jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Noah Allison singled, scoring two runs, Brit Vick singled, scoring two runs, and Jesse Saucedo grounded out, scoring one run.

Derby Twins added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Brit Vick tripled to center field, and Jesse Saucedo grounded out, each scoring one run.

Mekai Gallien started the game for Derby Twins. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking four. Tanner Peoples started the game for Newton Rebels. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and eight runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking two. Brock McKown appeared in relief for Derby Twins.

Derby Twins tallied 16 hits in the game. Noah Allison, Mason Wisnieski, Beau Sweeney, Landon Blais, and Brady Skinner each collected multiple hits for Derby Twins. Landon Sandy paced Derby Twins with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. Derby Twins didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jesse Saucedo had the most chances in the field with seven.

Newton Rebels piled up 13 hits in the game. Danny Balderas went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Newton Rebels in hits. Mark Wiemann, Preston Carillo, Caden Ehardt, and Kolten Robinson each drove in one run for Newton Rebels. Sam Schmidt led Newton Rebels with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Kolten Robinson stole two bases.
