Colton Petersmith doubled, which helped Kansas Cannons tie the game at two in the top of the second.
Kansas Cannons took the lead in the top of the third. Talan Barraza drew a walk, scoring one run, to give Kansas Cannons the upper hand, 3-2.
Noah Brocklebank homered to left field, which helped Derby Twins tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.
A home run to left field by Jesse Saucedo gave Derby Twins the lead, 6-3, in the bottom of the fifth.
Noah Allison hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh for the Derby Twins.
Jaret Mello earned the win for Derby Twins. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out one and walking three. Cooper Tannahill took the loss for Kansas Cannons. The pitcher went four innings, surrendering three runs on five hits, striking out four and walking four. Josh Turner started on the mound for Derby Twins. The southpaw surrendered three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking six. AJ Bekedam collected the save. Adam Cook appeared in relief for Derby Twins.
Derby Twins piled up 11 hits in the game. Jesse Saucedo led Derby Twins with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Landon Blais led Derby Twins with three hits in five at bats from the leadoff position. Noah Allison, Jude Almaraz, and Noah Brocklebank each collected multiple hits for Derby Twins.
Finn Kaiyala, Wyatt Reeder, Colton Petersmith, Zach Makarewich, and Gannon Snyder each collected one hit for Kansas Cannons. Finn Kaiyala and Colton Petersmith each drove in two runs for Kansas Cannons. Kansas Cannons had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Jackson Witt, Wyatt Reeder, Talan Barraza, Gunnar Gustafson, and Fernando Jorge led the team with two free passes each. Kansas Cannons turned one double play in the game.
