Derby Twins won big over Kingman Islanders 11-0 on Thursday at 200 N Woodlawn Blvd.
Derby Twins jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Gavin Mesa singled, scoring one run, Brit Vick doubled, scoring one run, Jude Almaraz doubled, scoring two runs, and Noah Allison singled, scoring one run.
A single by Brit Vick extended the Derby Twins lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Derby Twins scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Gavin Mesa singled, scoring two runs, Jude Almaraz grounded out, scoring one run, Beau Sweeney drew a walk, scoring one run, and Dawson Robbins drew a walk, scoring one run.
Dylan Hunsaker earned the win for Derby Twins. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking five. Cresten Pore took the loss for Kingman Islanders. The righty went one inning, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out none and walking none. Josh Turner pitched three innings of scoreless ball for Derby Twins in relief. Noah Allison, Brit Vick, and Gavin Mesa each collected two hits for Derby Twins. Jude Almaraz and Gavin Mesa each drove in three runs for Derby Twins. Derby Twins had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 12 walks for the game. Mason Wisnieski and Beau Sweeney led the team with three walks each. Derby Twins turned one double play in the game.
