Derby Twins easily dispatched Newton Rebels on Monday at E 14th St & N Kansas Ave, 13-6.

Derby Twins got on the board in the first inning after Brit Vick singled, scoring two runs.

Derby Twins added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Mason Wisnieski doubled to center field, and Gavin Mesa grounded out, each scoring one run.

Derby Twins added three more runs in the top of the third inning on two hits. Brady Skinner homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Landon Blais singled, scoring one run.

Mekai Gallien stepped on the hill first for Derby Twins. The hurler gave up two hits and two runs (zero earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Tanner Peoples stepped on the hill first for Newton Rebels. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking four. AJ Bekedam threw three innings of zero-run ball for Derby Twins in relief. The hurler surrendered zero hits, striking out four and walking two.

Dawson Robbins, Jude Almaraz, Mason Wisnieski, Landon Blais, Brit Vick, Gavin Mesa, and Brady Skinner each collected one hit for Derby Twins. Brit Vick and Brady Skinner each drove in two runs for Derby Twins. Landon Blais paced Derby Twins with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 14 walks for the game. Derby Twins turned one double play in the game.

Mark Wiemann, Walker Wakeland, Samuel Benz, and DL Morton each drove in one run for Newton Rebels. Walker Wakeland led Newton Rebels with three hits in five at bats. Newton Rebels turned one double play in the game.

Derby Twins will travel to Kingman Islanders 18O for their next game on Wednesday.
