Hutchinson Monarchs scored nine runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Derby Twins 12-1 on Sunday at 9 Emerson Loop E.

Hutchinson Monarchs opened the scoring in the third after Michael Barham doubled, scoring two runs.

Hutchinson Monarchs scored nine runs on one hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. Caylin Grimes was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Carter Hepner drew a walk, scoring one run, AJ Bekedam induced Nash Wray to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Brice Wallar drew a walk, scoring one run, Michael Barham drew a walk, scoring one run, Brady Taylor drew a walk, scoring one run, James Dagenhart drew a walk, scoring one run, Caylin Grimes drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carter Hepner drew a walk, scoring one run.

Landon Blais led things off on the bump for Derby Twins. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Brayden Henry opened the game for Hutchinson Monarchs. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Noah Allison led Derby Twins with one run batted in.  Jude Almarez and Gavin Mesa each collected one hit for Derby Twins.

Michael Barham provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hutchinson Monarchs with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. James Dagenhart and Nash Wray each collected two hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Hutchinson Monarchs had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Carter Hepner and Brady Taylor led the team with two free passes each. Hutchinson Monarchs turned one double play in the game.

Derby Twins play at home on Tuesday against Hutchinson Monarchs 18O in their next game.
