Derby Twins could not keep up with Junction City Brigade 5-3 on Tuesday at 900 W 13th St.
Junction City Brigade were the first to get on the board in the second when Eli Kellogg grounded out, scoring one run.
Landon Blais doubled on an 0-2 count, which helped Derby Twins tie the game at two in the top of the seventh.
Junction City Brigade took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Hayden Oviatt homered to right field, scoring three runs, to give Junction City Brigade the lead, 5-2.
Landon Blais stepped on the mound first for Derby Twins. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Jackson Waggoner stepped on the bump first for Junction City Brigade. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
Landon Blais went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Brit Vick went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Derby Twins in hits. Derby Twins turned two double plays in the game.
Junction City Brigade tallied 11 hits in the game. Hayden Oviatt provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Junction City Brigade with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 4-for-4 on the day. Logan Firgens collected two hits for Junction City Brigade in four at bats. Logan Firgens stole two bases. Junction City Brigade stole five bases in the game.
