Derby Twins beat Kansas Cannons 4-3 on Monday.

Kansas Cannons were the first to get on the board in the fifth when Zach Makarewich singled, scoring one run.

Derby Twins made the score 4-1 in the top of the sixth after Mason Wisnieski was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Javier Rodriguez scored after tagging up, and Beau Sweeney singled, scoring two runs.

Ian Carlson stepped on the hill first for Derby Twins. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Isaac Worden started on the bump for Kansas Cannons. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. AJ Bekedam appeared in relief for Derby Twins.

Beau Sweeney led Derby Twins with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Mason Wisnieski, Beau Sweeney, and Brady Skinner each collected one hit for Derby Twins. Derby Twins were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Mason Wisnieski had the most chances in the field with seven.

Kansas Cannons piled up nine hits in the game. Logan Renken, Colton Petersmith, and Zach Makarewich each collected two hits for Kansas Cannons. Wyatt Reeder, Logan Renken, and Zach Makarewich each drove in one run for Kansas Cannons. Kansas Cannons were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Drew Becker made the most plays with six.

Derby Twins will travel to Kansas Cannons for their next game on Monday.
