Junction City Brigade scored six runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Derby Twins 9-0 on Wednesday at 200 S Woodlawn Blvd.

Junction City Brigade got on the board in the top of the third inning after Cale Ortner drew a walk, scoring one run, Hayden Oviatt drew a walk, scoring one run, and Tyler Coffin hit a grand slam to left field.

Cale Ortner hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the seventh for the Junction City Brigade.

Junction City Brigade scored two runs in the top of the eighth on a home run to right field by Brayden Harpole.

Brady Skinner pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Derby Twins. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs while, striking out three and walking one. Dylan Hunsaker started on the hill for Derby Twins. The starter surrendered two hits and six runs over three innings, striking out five and walking six. Keaton Matlick stepped on the hill first for Junction City Brigade. The southpaw gave up four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Jude Almaraz went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Derby Twins in hits.

Tyler Coffin went 2-for-5 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Gus Keller paced Junction City Brigade with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Gus Keller and Kyle Walker each stole multiple bases for Junction City Brigade. Junction City Brigade stole four bases in the game. Junction City Brigade were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Brayden Harpole had the most chances in the field with eight.

Derby Twins play at home on Saturday against Kansas Cannons in their next game.
