Mason Wisnieski hit two home runs and drove in six as Derby Twins defeated Newton Rebels 11-0 on Sunday at 200 S Woodlawn Blvd. Mason Wisnieski homered in the eighth and sixth innings.

Josh Weaver struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed one hit and zero runs over eight innings while walking one.

Derby Twins jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Spencer Simpson drew a walk, scoring one run, Jesse Saucedo singled, scoring two runs, and Mason Wisnieski drew a walk, scoring one run.

Three more Derby Twins runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Landon Blais singled, scoring one run, and Mason Wisnieski homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Mason Wisnieski hit a grand slam to center field in the bottom of the eighth for the Derby Twins.

Gary Brock stepped on the bump first for Newton Rebels. The starter gave up two hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking six.

Jude Almaraz led Derby Twins with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 12 walks for the game. Jude Almaraz stole two bases.

Jaylon Humbles led Newton Rebels with one hit in four at bats. Newton Rebels were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Caden Ehardt had the most chances in the field with eight.

Derby Twins will travel to Newton Rebels for their next game on Monday.
