Derby Twins bested Performance Factory Phenoms 5-3 on Wednesday at 200 N Woodlawn Blvd.
Derby Twins got on the board in the first inning after Gerado Prado doubled, scoring one run.
Landon Sandy hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the second for the Derby Twins.
Gavin Mesa homered to left field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the Derby Twins.
Peyton Wells earned the win for Derby Twins. The righty gave up one hit and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two. Warkins took the loss for Performance Factory Phenoms. The pitcher went five innings, surrendering two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking none. Dylan Hunsaker started the game for Derby Twins. The starter allowed zero hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking five. Beau Sweeney collected the save.
Gavin Mesa provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Derby Twins with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Jude Almarez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Derby Twins in hits. Derby Twins were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jesse Saucedo had the most chances in the field with 13.
Roberts led Performance Factory Phenoms with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Layer and Roberts were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Performance Factory Phenoms. Marshall led Performance Factory Phenoms with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Performance Factory Phenoms were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Dinkle made the most plays with eight.
