Brett Fehr's rbi single up the middle scored Michael Urquidi from second to give the Derby Twins a 3-2 walk-off win over El Dorado Tuesday Night at Panther Field in Derby.
With the score tied at 2 in the bottom of the ninth, Urquidi led off the inning by reaching on a Mason Goade error at second base. He then stole second with Noah Bland at the plate before Fehr came up with two out and two strikes and bounced a base hit behind the bag at second. El Dorado shortstop Tyler Bailey fielded the ball and fired home as Urquidi rounded third without stopping and slid across home just before the tag from Bronco catcher Aaron Mack to give the Twins the win.
A costly error also cost El Dorado in the 7th inning when third baseman Josh Riggs dropped a routine fly ball hit by Anthony Dominguez. That loaded the bases and later allowed the Twins to score two unearned runs on Fehr's first hit of the night, a two RBI single to left giving the Twins a 2-0 lead.
The lead was short lived however as El Dorado mounted a two out rally in the top of the 8th when John Legare singled and Chad Crosbie followed with a home to straight away center off Twins reliever Ryan McCutcheon to tie the score at 2 before the Twins won it in the ninth.
Gabe Constantine helped set up the victory with 6 innings of shut out work, while striking out 12.
Tyler Myers pitched the top of the ninth to pick up the win.
The Twins will play a double-header Wednesday night in ElDorado beginning at 6 pm.
