Anthony Dominguez went two for four with three RBI's and a run scored, and it was his second hit of the night proved to be the difference in the game when he lined an 8th inning solo home run to right field giving the Twins a 5-4 lead.
Matt Cook and Matthew Dallas pitched scoreless innings in the 8th and 9th securing the Twins 5-4 victory.
Dominguez first hit of the night helped the Twins pull within a run at 3-2 in the top of the third inning when he stroked a two RBI single scoring Joe Faulk and Connor Basler. One batter later, Tyler McNamara brought home Michael Urquidi on a sacrifice fly to right, tying the score at 3-3.
The three run third followed a three run second by Hays when Clayton Rasbeary delivered a three run homer to right off Twins starter Jed Moscot.
Each team traded a run after that leading up to Dominguez's go ahead homer in the 8th.
Moscot went 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs to get the win, while Dallas picked up the save.
With the win, Derby pulled back even with Hays in second place in the Jayhawk League standings. Both teams trail first place Liberal by two games entering play Sunday night.
The Twins and Hays play the third and final game of their series tonight at 7 p.m.
